According to many news sites (including BBC News), Hollywood legend, Mickey Rooney, has died at the age of 93.
The recipient of two honorary Academy Awards was famous for his multiple marriages as well as for having a career that lasted from the 1920’s all the way to the 2010’s.
Some of his more famous movies include Requiem for a Heavyweight, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, Pete’s Dragon, The Magic of Lassie, The Black Stallion, Night at the Museum, and even a cameo appearance in The Muppets.
But, Mickey Rooney wasn’t just a live film actor; he lent his voice to many animated features as well. He voiced Santa Claus in multiple Rankin/Bass Productions including Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town. He also voiced the Scarecrow in Journey Back to Oz, Tod in The Fox and the Hound, the narrator/Mr. Cherrywood in The Care Bears Movie, Flip in Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland, and Sparky in Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp’s Adventure as well as many other characters throughout his career.
