Angelina Jolie Looks Wickedly Gorgeous in New ‘Maleficent’ Poster

Disney released a new poster for its Sleeping Beauty spin-off movie Maleficent. The poster shows a half-body shot of the wickedly gorgeous Angelina Jolie, as the evil fairy herself.

In the poster, we see Maleficent starring creepily at the viewer with her yellow-green-red eyes. Jolie’s famous pout sports bright red rouge and her cheeks are extremely sunken in à la Lady Gaga a few years ago. Maleficent’s coif shows her famous devil horns in black, with a hint of blue, which matches her black dress and collar. Lastly, the demoness has one staunch white hand placed on her scepter, which is one of the sources of her powers.

Overall, I’m rather impressed with the poster. So far, all of the posters have exploited only the film’s eponymous lead Maleficent and not any of the secondary characters such as the princess Aurora of the good fairies. This probably is a good indication about where the majority of the plot will focus, if the blazingly obvious Maleficent title wasn’t enough of an indication.

Disney was also able to obtain the @Maleficent Twitter handle for the movie, cutting it close with just a few months to spare before the release. Be sure to follow this Twitter because, according to Disney, more is to be revealed there and “something big is coming.” But this handle will come in handle to further promote Disney entities long after the movie is released, much like what the company already does with its Disney Princess Facebook pages.

Maleficent hits theatres in just a few short months on May 30, 2014.

What is your favorite part of the new ‘Maleficent’ poster?
