One of the most anticipated animated movies of 2014 is How to Train Your Dragon 2. We already got the official trailer in December, a Hiccup poster released last November and now we get a character poster featuring a slightly grown up Astrid.

HTTYD2-poster-Astrid

This poster looks identical to the Hiccup poster in which Hiccup was prominently on the left side with his dragon on a black background. The Astrid posters features Astrid as the main character with her dragon, Stormfly in the background. I really like these posters so far and DreamWorks announced more of these posters will release in the upcoming weeks, so be prepared.

I love the design of Astrid and just like Hiccup she looks, in my opinion, much better now than she did in the first film (gotta love those awkward pre-teen years). The details in her hair, on her clothes and of her dragon are so intricate. There’s not doubt that this movie is going to be a visual spectacular, which makes me even more excited to see it.

How to Train Your Dragon 2 is the second film in the DreamWorks Dragons trilogy. This second film will continue five years after the first film ended and this time we will see Hiccup as a teenager. While Astrid and the others are challenging each other to Dragon races, Hiccup and his friend Toothless are exploring the world. When they discover a secret ice cave, they realize it’s home to hundreds of new wild dragons and a mysterious Dragon rider.

How to Train Your Dragon 2 will release in theatres June 13, 2014

What do you think of this new HTTYD2 poster?
