Entertainment Weekly revealed a new still from Pixar’s upcoming Monsters University-based short Party Central, which was originally planned to release in front of The Good Dinosaur this year. Unfortunately The Good Dinosaur got pushed back to 2015, so instead Party Central will release in theatres in front of Muppet’s Most Wanted.

At the D23 Animation panel at the D23 Expo this Summer, Pixar announced that this new short  would  feature the characters from its latest animated feature Monsters University. It also announced the name: Party Central. I hear you thinking, “Isn’t Party Central mentioned in Monsters University?” Yes it was! Party Central is briefly mentioned in Monsters University when Mike and Sulley enter the house of Oozma Kappa. It’s located in the house’s living room and is the designated place where the Oozmas have their parties. Well, where they will have their parties if anyone had one, which doesn’t happen often.

Party-Central

The new still doesn’t feature Mike and Sulley because since this short picks up where MU left off, when the duo left MU at the end. I love seeing the Oozma Kappa gang back and it looks their party didn’t turn out the way they hoped. I’m excited to see more clips and snippets from  this short and expect that it will be just as good as Pixar’s other shorts.

Party Central will release in front of Muppet’s Most Wanted, which will release March 21 of this year.

What do you think of this first still from Pixar’s Party Central?
