Colorful New ‘Rio 2’ Trailer Highlights Celebrity Voice Talent

rio2newtrailer

20th Century Fox released a new trailer for Blue Sky Studios’ Rio 2, which was released via Apple.

The trailer mostly reuses footage from the first theatrical trailer, including beginning with a vibrant, Brazilian party and then showing us Blu and family heading into the Amazon to find other blue macaws.

The big difference is that this trailer spends a lot more time highlighting every single one of the the famous actors who will be voicing different characters in Rio 2. We see a lot more of Bruno Mars’ character Roberto, a blue macaw who was a former flame of Jewel’s. Blue Sky Studios has the tendency to tout its jam-packed celebrity casts in its trailers; it did the same thing for the trailers for Epic. Personally, I don’t see the draw in focusing so much on who did the voices, but rather am more interested in seeing what the story is all about. But, maybe that’s just me.

Rio 2 hits US theatres April 11, 2014.

How did you like this ‘Rio 2’ trailer?
