Dramatic New Teaser Poster For Disney’s ‘Maleficent’

Disney has provided us with a stunning first poster for their upcoming Sleeping Beauty live-action spin-off Maleficent. The dark and grim poster has Angelina Jolie as the iconic villainess looking at us with vengeance in her green eyes. Her skin looks ghostly white (in contrast to the greenish hue she has in the original film) and her lips deep red. In short: terrifying.

Maleficent, a live-action film inspired by Disney’s 1959 animated masterpiece Sleeping Beauty, tells the story of the greatest fairytale villain of them all: the mistress of all evil herself: Maleficent. The film will tell us the story from her perspective–the reasons for her actions (was she really just ticked off for not getting an invitation to the Aurora’s christening?) and the consequences that led her to act in the way she does- cursing the little princess, capturing the prince, and of course, transforming herself into that horrifying dragon.

Maleficent releases in theatres in July 2014. A teaser trailer will be released tomorrow.

Are you excited to see Angelina Jolie as Maleficent?
