Little-Mermaid-Find-Your-Voice-Nick-PiteraYouTube sensation Nick Pitera today helped launch Disney’s “Find Your Voice,” an online campaign in preparation for The Little Mermaid‘s Diamond Edition Blu-ray this October.

Pitera, a Pixar employee, is no stranger to YouTube. His acapella videos, in which he performs multiple vocal parts all singing together split-screen, have soared to millions of views. Today, a new one-man performance starring Pitera debuted on Disney’s official YouTube page: “Kiss the Girl” from The Little Mermaid.

The Little Mermaid is grounded in its legendary music, widely recognized as the beginning of a Renaissance of Disney animation. To celebrate the film’s songs and create anticipation for its nearing Blu-ray premiere, the new Nick Pitera video serves as the kick-off to a new contest called Find Your Voice.

Participants upload a 60-second video of themselves singing a Little Mermaid song for the chance to win a trip to Los Angeles. There, they will receive a studio recording experience, a tour of Radio Disney, and $1,000 cash. More information and example videos can be found at contest’s official website.

Also uploaded by Disney recently was the next quick installment in the “I Am a Princess” series, highlighting the qualities that young girls can take away from Disney’s princess characters. This one appropriately spotlights Ariel:
