Kristen Bell’s ‘Frozen’ Thoughts

kristen-bell-frozenAfter so much patience, we are finally getting more and more information for Disney’s latest animation project, Frozen. While there is still so much about the film that we do not know, Kristen Bell has now thrown in some words that will continue to defrost the great mystery that is Frozen.

In a recent USA Today interview, Kristen Bell, who voices protagonist Anna, shared her thoughts on the film, plus voiced her own excitement.

“Since I was 4 years old, I dreamed of being in a Disney animated film,” Bell says. “It was the first goal I ever set for myself. It seemed like it would be a very unrealistic one.”

She also gives a bigger description as to who Anna is and what exactly her character is about.

“Anna is the sibling who doesn’t normally get that much attention and is used to kind of just spazzing out on her own. But she’s forced into a position where her sister needs her, and she has to step up to the plate… She’s not a good fighter, she doesn’t have good posture, she’s not very elegant, and she’s constantly putting her foot in her mouth. But she’s a good person and she’s utterly determined.”

Hmm… Anna sounds a little bit like Merida… Except, you know, she isn’t good at fighting.

“She doesn’t have any superpowers,” said co-director Jennifer Lee. “But Anna is one of these ordinary people doing an extraordinary thing.”

Bell also stated that, while this film has the romance that seems to be necessary for any Disney movie, it mainly focuses on the relationship between the two sisters.

“That’s such an important part of this,” Lee says. “Two sisters torn apart by a big family secret.”

The two sisters have a singing scene, and Bell admitted that singing alongside musical performer Idina Menzel (who voices sister Elsa) was a very intimidating prospect.

“It’s like getting on a bike path with Lance Armstrong,” Bell says. “She’s one of the best singers on the planet.”

For Bell, her main joy is that someday her newborn daughter, Lincoln, will be able to see her part in this movie.

“Now that I have a little girl, she’s going to be able to see me voice this character, and that’s a special part of the process for me,” Bell says. “She won’t know for a very long time, but when that time comes, she’ll be as excited as I am now.”

Okay, is anyone else as pumped as I am for Frozen right now? Kristen Bell’s passion for the movie only makes the wait until it’s release on November 27 seem even longer.
