Earlier this month, we found out about a rumored Star Wars theme park to come to Walt Disney World. The news of this potential park either excited or angered fans, some of whom loved the idea of this particular park, while others feared the loss the expansion would bring, including the loss of the Muppet theater and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids attractions.
This is still all scoops and scandals, without any definite word on whether or not this Star Wars-land will come to fruition, but recently the Orlando Business Journal claimed that this theme park will “dwarf any other Disney-related expansion in its recent history” with the project costing over $200 million.
This same source also told the Business Journal that the Cars Land rumors were also accurate, but the plans for this theme park will be nothing in comparison to that of the Star Wars park.
This isn’t the first time that Disney has worked with George Lucas to incorporate Star Wars into their theme parks. Recently, “Star Tours,” a ride based off of the mega franchise, was revamped and sends riders through outer space, a different story every time you ride.
These are only the latest possible expansions that will be added to the growing Disney World. Currently, they are working on an expansion at New Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom, along with planning out a Avatar land in Animal Kingdom.
