It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s a Despicablimp?!

I’m always down for an interesting twist on advertising, whether it’s talking babies, Despicable-Me-2-blimp-Press-Release-Despicaplimpanimals in clothing, or humans doing ridiculous stunts. Well, Despicable Me 2 has decided to take their advertising campaign a little old school and create a Minion blimp known as the Despicablimp, which will make it’s first appearance at the 2013 Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards on March 23rd.

If you can’t make the trip to LA for the award ceremony, don’t fret!  The Despicablimp is going to take a tour across the country where you may be able to spot it, and thanks to modern technology, you can track the blimps progress via their website, so that you can time that photo op. just right.

In case you missed the latest trailer to Despicable Me 2, you can check it out here.

You can also follow the blimp’s progress via twitter @despicablimp.

Despicable Me 2 comes to theaters July 3rd, 2013.
