Just in time for their spring release The Croods, DreamWorks Animation haturbo-official-posters released a new trailer for their summer movie, Turbo. We first saw a glimpse of the little snail who dreams of being a racer back at Christmas time, but now we get to see even more about the story and a bunch of new characters. Of course, we also have a generous helping of humor, for which DreamWorks is known.

Check out the new trailer below!

The most striking feature of the trailer is the animation quality. It looks like DreamWorks has gone all out on this movie, with animation rivaling Pixar’s latest movies. The graphics look lifelike and dazzling. Dreamworks’ signature cartoony style is still there, but it looks slick and refined. Check out that glow on Turbo! It looks brilliant! I was initially apprehensive of the plot and premise, but it looks like this is going to be quite an impressive film. Of course, we can’t say until we see it, but hey, it looks great!

Turbo tells the story of a snail named Theo (voiced by Ryan Reynolds) who dreams of becoming the fastest snail in the world. Sounds impossible, right? But when a freak accident gives him super-speed powers, he sets out to make his IndyCar dream come true- and becomes the unstoppable Turbo.

From Dreamworks Animation and 20th Century Fox, Turbo opens in theaters July 18, 2013.
