The Pokémon Company International has released a new app, on which fans can now watch their favorite episodes of the long-running anime series for free! The app, simply called Pokémon TV, is now available for free download on iOS and Android platforms. That’s not all, fans can also watch full movies, trailers, and Pikachu shorts on the app.
The app will feature a handpicked selection of “featured” episodes spanning all 15 previous seasons from 1997 to 2012 (FYI, that’s over 700 episodes in total!) The app is available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
Also as a special feature, Pokémon has announced that the most recent Pokémon movie, Kyurem Vs. The Sword of Justice as well as the new Pikachu short Meloetta’s Moonlight Serenade will be available for viewing from February 15 to 18.
It’s an awesome step for Pokémon to finally be moving into the app space. With increasing competition and a need for Pokémon to continue it’s relevance in today’s age, a free app seems like a great idea. This isn’t the first ever app for Pokémon, though, they released a Pokédex app for iOS last year. Pokédex 3D and Dream Radar are downloadable apps for the Nintendo 3DS system as well.
Are you excited to get the new Pokémon TV app and catch up with all your favorite Pokémon animation? Personally, I can’t wait to watch Season 1 all over again!
