Walt Disney Animation updated the synopsis to its upcoming CGI fairy tale Frozen.
When Anna is cursed by her estranged sister, the cold-hearted Snow Queen, Anna’s only hope of reversing the curse is to survive a perilous but thrilling journey across an icy and unforgiving landscape. Joined by a rugged, thrill-seeking outdoorsman, his one-antlered reindeer and a hapless snowman, Anna must race against time, conquer the elements and battle an army of menacing snowmen if she ever hopes to melt her frozen heart.
Anna is not only “a young dreamer”, but is also the cursed sister to the eponymous Snow Queen. Talk about family drama. And looks like Anna meets up with quite a ragtag group of misfits along the way. Like all Disney fairy tale adaptations, Disney seems to be taking a few liberties with the original story. But oh well, that’s what we’ve come to love from Disney: their version somehow becomes the only version most people remember.
The film has been in and out of production for so many years, we don’t really know what to expect in terms of character design and style. So hopefully the next juicy tidbit Disney gives us will be some real concept art or even a teaser trailer. Although we probably won’t see one until maybe November in front of Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph at the earliest.
Frozen hits theatres November 27, 2013.
