2 New Stills from ‘Brave’ Show Merida with a New Weapon: A Sword

The first movie posters and trailers for Brave showed Merida with her trademark weapon of choice: the bow. But in these newly released stills, we see more versitility from Merida as she’s masterfully wielding a sword.

The first still shows Merida playfully sparring with King Fergus, while Queen Elinor watches from the sideline. The second still has darker overtones and shows Merida protecting a bear as citizens of her kingdom attempt to hold it back with ropes.

We’re getting closer and closer to Brave’s June release date. So expect a lot more still and articles in the upcoming weeks. If you want the film to remain a surprise, I’d recommend staying away from Brave news over the next month, just in case.
